Ukrainian bass Viacheslav Strelkov received his formal training at the Kyiv National Musical Academy named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, where he studied under Professor Petr Koval and completed his master’s degree in 2011.

Mr. Strelkov began his professional career as a soloist at the Kyiv Municipal Opera and Ballet Theater, where he remained from 2011 until 2019. Since 2019, he has been a soloist at the National Opera and Ballet Theater in Kharkiv, Ukraine. His repertoire there includes leading bass roles such as Gremin in Eugene Onegin, König René in Iolanta, Galitskiy in Prince Igor, Varlaam in Boris Godunov, Kochubey in Mazeppa, Ramfis in Aida, and Colline in La Bohème. He has also appeared as König in Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges and Timur in Turandot.

In recent years, Mr. Strelkov has expanded his international engagements. In 2022, he debuted with Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Italy, performing in concerts under the direction of Jacopo Brusa and Pietro Rizzo. Since 2023, he has worked regularly with Opera 2001, performing the role of Timur in Turandot across France and Spain, including appearances at the Massy Theater in Paris. He has also toured extensively in the role of Commendatore in Don Giovanni (38 performances), and recently completed a tour as Oroveso in Norma (20 performances).

Equally active on the concert stage, Mr. Strelkov has appeared as a bass soloist in major choral works including Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, and Rossini’s Stabat Mater, under the batons of Dmytro Morozov, Yevhen Yakovenko, and Andriy Baklan.

Mr. Strelkov is fluent in Russian, German, Italian, and French, and speaks English proficiently.
