Latvian soprano Vera Talerko studied vocal performance at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre under Professor Asta Kriksciunaite, earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in opera singing. She began her formal training at the Daugavpils Conservatory and Music School in Latvia, focusing on classical singing, choral conducting, and music theory.

From 2016 to 2019, Ms. Talerko was a resident artist at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, where her roles included Amore (Orfeo ed Euridice), Lola (Cavalleria Rusticana), Frasquita (Carmen), Musetta (La Bohème), and Marzelline (Fidelio). Since 2019, she has been a frequent guest at the Prague State Opera, where she has appeared in numerous productions, including Musetta, Adina, Sophie, and Marzelline. Her recent seasons have included Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) at the Estates Theatre in Prague and Micaëla (Carmen) at the Stockholm Royal Opera. In 2023, she made her debut at the Hamburg State Opera in the world premiere of Venere e Adone by Salvatore Sciarrino, under the baton of Kent Nagano.

In concert, Ms. Talerko has performed as a soloist with the Belgrade Philharmonic, Lithuanian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Slovenian Symphony Orchestra, and Oslo University Choir. Her repertoire includes works by Bach, Mozart, Dvořák, Rossini, Ravel, Shostakovich, and Moniuszko, among others. She has been featured at international festivals such as the Johan Halvorsen Music Festival, Rossini in Wildbad, and Lithuania’s Night of Culture.

Ms. Talerko has been recognized at numerous international competitions. She was awarded first prize and the audience prize at the Wilhelm Stenhammar International Music Competition in Sweden (2022), the Mozart Prize at the same competition in 2018, first prize at the International Bel Canto Prize in Germany (2017), and second place at the Paula Salomon-Lindberg Lied Competition in Berlin (2015).
