Vera Talerko

Equally in love with opera and chamber music, Latvian Soprano Vera Talerko has been a prize winner of several international vocal competitions, including first prize and audience prize at the International Stenhammar Music Competition (2022, Sweden), Mozart prize at the International Stenhammar Music Competition (Sweden, 2018), International BelCanto prize (Germany, 2017), and 2nd place at the Paula-Salomon Lindmann Liedwettbewerb (Germany, 2015). From 2016 to 2019, Vera was a resident artist at the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, where she successfully performed numerous roles such as Amore (Orfeo ed Euridice), Marzelline (Fidelio), Clorinda (La Cenerentola) etc. In 2019 Vera had her Prague State opera debut, where she continues to appear as a frequent guest. The current season includes the roles of Pamina (die Zauberflöte), Adina (Elisir d'amore), Sophie (der Rosenkavalier) and Musetta (La bohème). In the spring of 2023 Vera appeared on the main stage of the Hamburg state opera in the world premiere of "Venere e Adone" (S.Schiarrino) conducted by Kent Nagano.

Vera studied vocal performance at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre under the tuition of Professor Asta Kriksciunaite.
