Sergey Kaydalov

Russian baritone Sergey Kaydalov, a recent graduate of the Saint-Petersburg Herzen University (Institute of Art), joined the ensemble of Vienna State Opera in 2020/2021; there, he can be seen a.o. as Belcore in L'Elisir d'amore, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Silvio in I Pagliacci, and Escamillo in Carmen

Mr. Kaydalov has also been a soloist of the Mariinsky Theater since 2018/2019; roles there include Ivan Zhuran in Tchaikovsky’s Enchantress. Another highlight of the 2018/2019 season was his guest engagement at Opéra de Lyon singing Koudma in Enchantress.In 2019/2020, he could be seen a.o. as Marcellus in Hamlet at Opera Köln.

Mr. Kaydalov has received numerous awards including 1st Prize at the International "Queen Sonja Singing Competition 2019" in Oslo, First Prizes at the 4th Minsk International Christmas Singing Competition (Minsk, 2017), the G. Sviridov 6th Chamber Singing International Competition (Kursk, 2017), the “Young voice of Siberia” International Competition (Novosibirsk, 2013), the All-Russian Competition “Siberian Romansiada” (Tomsk, 2012), as well as the Grand Prix at the 6th International B.T.Shtokolov vocal Competition (Saint-P., 2018), the “Star’s rhapsody” International Competition (Saint-P., 2017), and the Prize of the “Young Talents of Russia” International Competition (Moscow, 2012).
