Ruzana Grigorian

Russian mezzo-soprano Ruzanna Grygorian, an alumna of the Mozarteum Salzburg, has established herself as a prominent figure in the opera world. Since joining the International Opera Studio at Staatsoper Hamburg in the 2017/2018 season, she has performed a diverse repertoire, captivating audiences with her rich mezzo tones and dynamic stage presence. Her notable roles include Maddalena ("Rigoletto"), Frau des Gew. ("Israel in Munchen"), Hänsel ("Hänsel und Gretel"), Mrs. Alexander ("Satyagraha"), Amneris ("Aida"), Olga ("Eugene Onegin"), Carmen ("Carmen"), 3rd Secretary ("Nixon in China"), Fremde Fürstin ("Rusalka"), Jüngere Tochter ("Zar Saltan"), Mere Jeanne ("Dialogues des Carmelites"), and Emilia ("Otello") at the Staatsoper Hannover. Additionally, she has performed as Wowkle ("La Fanciulla del West"), Flora ("La Traviata"), 2 Dame ("Die Zauberflöte"), Zaida ("Il Turco in Italia"), Laura ("Luisa Miller"), Siebel ("Faust"), and 3 Damen ("Die Zauberflöte") at Staatsoper Hamburg.

Ms. Grygorian’s concert repertoire includes Verdi's "Messa da Requiem" at Palau de la Musica in Barcelona and Mozart's "Requiem" in Berlin, both in 2019. She has also been recognized in prestigious competitions, being a finalist in the 55th Francesco Vinas Competition in Barcelona, Spain, and winning the 3rd Prize at the 28th International Competition "Spazio Musica" in 2023. In 2018, Grygorian won First Prize at the International "Nuovo Canto" Competition in Milan, Italy, showcasing her exceptional talent on an international stage.
