The Canadian bass Randall Jakobsh studied voice at the University of Calgary, the University of Toronto, the Juilliard School, and the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, receiving his training across several prestigious institutions in North America.

Mr. Jakobsh began his professional career with an engagement at Theater Kiel, followed by a six-year tenure at the Staatsoper Hannover. From 2011 to 2014, he was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Nürnberg. He joined the ensemble of Oper Leipzig in the 2016/17 season, where his repertoire has included Daland in Der fliegende Holländer, Hunding in Die Walküre, Fafner in Siegfried, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Titurel in Parsifal, Biterolf in Tannhäuser, and Veit Pogner in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.

As a guest artist, Mr. Jakobsh has performed with a wide range of companies in Europe and North America, including the Staatsoper Hamburg, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Oper Stuttgart, Oper Köln, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Opéra de Tours, Opéra de Rouen, Opéra de Montréal, Vancouver Opera, and the Washington Opera. He has also appeared at the Salzburg Festival and at Carnegie Hall.
