Ferhat Baday

The young Turkish bass Ferhat Baday won first prize at the 2022 Young Soloists Competition in Izmir, Turkey. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at the State Conservatory of Dokuz Eylül University in Izmir, he was accepted into the Opera Studio of the Komische Oper Berlin, where he performed during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. His roles included Zarezki in Eugene Onegin, Second Armored Man in The Magic Flute, the Tutor in Jacques Offenbach’s Les Brigands, Ville Vätte in Nils Holgersson’s Wonderful Adventures, Doeg in Saul, the First Gravedigger in Ambroise Thomas’ Hamlet, as well as the Herald and Farfarello in The Love for Three Oranges.

In the 2024/25 season, he will make his debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the world premiere of Gordon Kampe’s children’s opera Immermeeehr, and will also perform the roles of Dankwart and Hagen in Ab in den Ring!.
