Georgian soprano Elina Ratiani received her formal training at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory and graduated with distinction from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She further honed her craft at the Mariinsky Theatre’s Academy of Young Opera Singers in St. Petersburg, where she was later appointed as a soprano soloist. Her principal teachers include Tamara Novichenko, Yuri Grigoriev, Juliette Bisazza, and Richard Barker.

Ms. Ratiani has appeared in leading roles on prominent stages throughout Italy and Russia. In 2021, she sang the title role in Turandot at Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino under the baton of Giuseppe La Malfa, and later the role of Stephana in Giordano’s Siberia, sharing the production with Sonya Yoncheva. Her collaboration with Marcello Giordani in Turandot at the Teatro Antico di Siracusa and Teatro Antico di Taormina in 2019, directed by Enrico Stinchelli and conducted by James Meena, was met with strong acclaim, culminating in a 20-minute ovation from an audience of over 10,000. She returned to Taormina in 2020 to sing Aida under Marco Boemi, despite the challenges presented by the pandemic.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Ratiani performed widely in Russia, including appearances at the Main Hall of St. Petersburg, the Moscow Hall of Chaliapin, and the Moscow House of Scientists. Her repertoire includes roles such as the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Tosca, Aida, Manon Lescaut, Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Leonora (La forza del destino), Liza (Queen of Spades), Rusalka, Maddalena (Andrea Chénier), and Stephana (Siberia)..

In May 2021, Elina performed as Turandot at the Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino and later shared the stage with Sonya Yoncheva in "Siberia."
