Carl Rumstadt

Baritone Carl Rumstadt, a native of Bavaria, received his vocal training at HfM Nuremberg and HMT Munich under the guidance of Professors Siegfried Jerusalem and Fenna Kügel Seifried. After completing his studies, Mr. Rumstadt swiftly joined the ensembles of the opera houses in Bern and Trier, and, in 2022, Mr. Rumstadt joined the Ensemble of the Theater Bonn.

Mr. Rumstadt has appeared as a guest soloist with many renowned international companies, such as the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Royal Opera House Muscat, Oper Graz, Staatstheater Meiningen, Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Münchner Biennale, Theater Dortmund and the Theater Osnabrück. His repertoire encompasses the title roles in Don Giovanni, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Le nozze di Figaro (having sung both Figaro and Count Almaviva), and Eugene Onegin, and includes such further roles as Rodrigo (Don Carlo), Marcello (La Bohème), Wolfram (Tannhäuser), Father (Hänsel und Gretel), Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus), Danilo (The merry Widow) and Prince Tarquinius (The rape of Lucretia). As a concert soloist, Mr. Rumstadt has achieved acclaim performing as the featured soloist in major works such Brahms' German Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elias and Paulus, Mahler's Songs of a Traveling Journeyman and Kindertotenlieder, and Orff's Carmina Burana.
