Participants in the Bavarian Opera Academy receive 2 half hour sessions with Founder & CEO Kalle Kanttila and a professional accompanist, and have the opportunity to go through their audition repertoire with Kalle in advance of singing for the invited Casting Director of the Workshop. Whereas most instructional sessions with teachers come from the perspective of what fits in a university or conservatory education, Kalle is able to provide participants with the unique insights of a professional agent: what aspects of their performance are most effective? Which repertoire should they use for their auditions, and how can they best present themselves on stage? These sessions serve as a valuable chance for singers to be assessed from a real-world standpoint, and be given practical guidance on how to better tailor their presentation for the current job market.
